As the Beatles said, "all you need is love..."

Written about a month ago....but just now having the courage to share....

The world is a complicated place. I recently told someone that I tend not to look at the world based on one government's relation to another, but from one person to another. The individual is key. If you try to teach the world about living in peace and harmony, what it boils down to is this - how can one person look out for the well-being and care for another if they have no sense of caring for their self. To nurture the individual spirit is just as important as trying to change government policy, implement healthcare and pay for quality education. Look at yourself. What do you see if yourself. Do you believe you are worthy? Worthy of unconditional love? Not because you have done this, that or the other, but simply because you exist? It is incredible, I think, how many people in this world who have little sense of self worth and self confidence. And please do not confuse self worth and confidence with self indulgence and a sense of deserving. You are worthy of love simply because you exist. Your spirit is unique to any other in this world of billions and it is how you nurture your own spirit that will make loving thy neighbor a much simpler task because you will believe we are all worthy of acceptance and love. I don't know if it is true, but someone once told me that the US has some of the poorest healthcare and education systems in the world, so how is the US such a strong leader in this world? We rank high in self worth. Whether that is true or not, it is worth pondering. I believe that there are people in this world who would save the lives of 1 million strangers over saving the lives of their immediate family. I hear so many people say that when it comes to putting a roof over your head and food in your empty stomach, to looking out for the health of your neighbor, of course you will choose yourself. No one can deny that....but I cannot help but believe that there are a few angles in this world who would choose to extend a hand and it may very well come from knowing that with love, they have all they truly need - living with no fear of death and dying....but to be the best you can be during your very short stay on this planet. Throughout your day, how much do you stop and think about helping a stranger while you go about your day? I don't know if others think as I do, but there isn't a broken down car I pass on the side of the highway, or a street person asking for change, or a an elder sitting alone in a restaurant where I don't think about stopping to ask if they need help or food or have a story to share. I think about that all of the time.....but do I stop? No - perhaps out of safety concerns or worried I may be helping in the wrong way or intruding on someone's time....I watched Patch Adams years ago and always remember the young doctor who went off to join the efforts of "Patch Adams" and ended up being killed by a patient she was stepping out of her comfort zone to help.....where does one draw the line between helping thy neighbor and not being foolish when it comes to personal safety? In my mind, I'm not going out today to help every stranger I see.....but I cannot help but think of how this story inspires me to still want to help those in need. That I would rather die living my life through sharing love with others than to die a woman rich in material wealth and recognition who never knew how to experience true love....the kind that brings peace to your soul and your soul to heaven......

All you need is love ~The Beatles (Lennon/McCartney)

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy.
There's nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you
in time - It's easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
There's nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
